Job summary

E.ON UK in Cranbrook (Exeter) is seeking a General Duties Assistant to visit client sites, record data, and prepare documentation. The role suits someone with practical civils/excavation experience who can learn quickly and work with Microsoft Dynamics.

You will perform site inspections, maintain records, manage small teams or 3rd party contractors, and ensure safety and compliance. A valid UK driving license, ability to travel across Heat Network sites, and NRSWA operative card are required.

Qualifications

  • Valid full UK driving license.
  • Ability to use Microsoft Visio.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a small team along with managing time effectively.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Flexibility to work in various weather conditions and travel across Heat Network sites.
  • NRSWA full operative card.
  • Proven civils and excavation experience.
  • Experience working in underground environments.
  • Experience supporting site set-up and SLG.

Responsibilities

  • General housekeeping and stock control within Energy Centres.
  • Document control for legal compliance checks in Energy Centres and substations.
  • Create asset list with consumable parts and work orders via Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Visit residential, commercial, and industrial properties, to carryout site inspections, contract inspections, provide AE support where applicable.
  • Maintain professionalism and respect privacy while interacting with clients and customers.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and company policies while performing duties.
  • Maintain accurate records of completed work and submit them promptly via MSD.
  • Support with underground civils works including deep excavations works.
  • Assist with trench support systems under direction.
  • Carry out backfilling and reinstatement works
  • Work in public highways (non-motorway) and private land
  • Setup safe working sites in live traffic areas including fencing, barriers, signage, and SLG.
  • Oversee and manage 3rd party contractors when onsite and ensure compliance.
  • Collate and report on investigation works, using digital tooling
  • Co-ordinate and plan with Customer service any interruptions to service
  • Provide support within Energy Centres when required to carry out PPM tasks on assets.
  • Able to repair or reconfigure pipework inside and outside of Energy Centres.
  • Carry out proactive maintenance tasks on all assets across all areas.
  • Maintain good site housekeeping standards
  • Communicate effectively with the Team Leader and others on site

Job description

Location: Cranbrook, Exeter

Salary: £32,422-£44,455

Fixed term contract: 12 months

We are seeking motivated individuals to join our team as general duties assistant in The South West. As a GDA, you will be responsible for visiting client sites to accurately record data and create documentation. Some low level mechanical/electrical/Civils experience would be beneficial, however full training will be provided. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals with good computer skills.
