Job description

Network Field Engineer - Between £400/£500 per day Outside IR35 (must be Scotland based)

One of Loriens main clients (Public Sector) is looking for a CCNA qualified Network Field Engineer to join on an initial 12-month contract (£400/£500 per day OUTSIDE IR35).

Project:

1. Deployment of SD-WAN solution to 50+ sites in Scotland.
2. Upgrade of estate-wide LAN hardware/software, including triage of site failures across 50+ sites.
3. Wi-Fi system upgrade, including new controllers, APs, and coverage expansion.
4. Additional projects such as F5, data centre movement, management systems, and VPN changes are planned.

Essential criteria:

• Proven, up-to-date experience with Cisco equipment (2960X/XR, 4500, 9000 series, Nexus switches), supported by a recognized network certification.
• Knowledge of troubleshooting physical network site infrastructure.
• Experience building, managing, and maintaining high-availability networks with Cisco devices.
• Experience with Cisco Networking, Unified Communications, WLC, F5 VPN, F5 Silverline/XC, IPsec tunnels, and Palo Alto Firewalls.
• Experience using and implementing network monitoring solutions.
• Experience designing load balancing services.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with IT and operational colleagues.

Driver's license is required; you will use your own vehicle with expenses and mileage covered.
