Hybrid: 3 days on-site (London SW1A), 2 days remote

We’re hiring an experienced Network Engineer with active SC clearance for a long-term contract supporting a high-profile programme. This is a fantastic opportunity for a tech-savvy, security-cleared professional to work with Juniper, Palo Alto, Cisco, and application delivery technologies across a complex, multi-site environment.

Design and maintain Juniper, Palo Alto, and Cisco networks (firewalls, routers, switches)
Manage LAN, WAN, VPN, and data centre operations
Support and configure application load balancers/reverse proxies (F5, NGINX, HAProxy)
Implement network segmentation, zero-trust models, and secure connectivity
Collaborate with architecture teams and lead on strategic design and delivery
Monitor, optimise, and troubleshoot network performance
Own firmware upgrades, patching, documentation, and DR planning
Liaise with vendors and manage escalations

What You’ll Need

5+ years experience with Juniper, Palo Alto, and Cisco networks
In-depth knowledge of BGP, OSPF, STP, VLANs, VXLAN EVPN, ACLs, IPsec VPNs, and multicast
Hands-on with public and private cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP, VMware NSX)
Experience with network automation (Python, Ansible) and Git-based deployment workflows
Skilled in traffic analysis, packet capture, monitoring, and performance tuning
Strong documentation, change control, and team collaboration abilities
