Job summary

Boss Professional Services in Crewe is seeking a Network Engineer for a 6‑month contract, onsite 5 days a week. Contractor must be SC cleared (active) and a sole UK national. The role is Inside IR35 with a £380/day rate.

You will join our Network Operations Centre, delivering RUN and project tasks, troubleshooting, and implementing network changes while pursuing certifications and training to bolster capabilities.

Qualifications

• Proven track record supporting enterprise networks with valid certifications.
• Experience supporting Cisco ACI SDN (multi-site/multi-pod).
• Experience supporting Firewalls (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco Firepower, Cisco ASA & AnyConnect).
• Experience with enterprise Wi‑Fi (Cisco WLC).
• Troubleshooting routing issues (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).
• Strong understanding of networking protocols (IPsec, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP).

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and configure enterprise networks.
• Responsible for network incident diagnostics/resolution.
• Network change implementation.
• Undertake project tasks with Project Managers.
• Continue professional training and certifications.

Role Title: Network Engineer

Location: Crewe - 5 days onsite/week

Role Description:

Our Network Operations Centre (NOC) provides support at all levels for a multitude of technologies across complex landscapes, providing expertise to deliver a stable, secure, efficient and well managed infrastructure, over the full life cycle of each solution. Your role:

As an integral part of a Network Operations Centre, you'll have fantastic opportunities to develop both yourself and our collective capabilities performing a mixture of RUN and Project activities with other likeminded Network Analysts. As part of the team, you'll be empowered to:

• Troubleshoot and configure enterprise networks.
• Be responsible for Network incident diagnostics/resolution.
• Network change implementation
• Undertake Project Tasks, supporting both internal and external Project Managers
• Continue to strengthen and bolster your existing capabilities through a mix of professional training, certifications, and experiences.

Your skills and experience:

• Proven track record supporting enterprise networks with valid networking technical certifications demonstrating proficiency.
• In-depth experience supporting Cisco ACI software defined networks (multi-site & multi-pod)
• Experienced in supporting Firewalls (Palo Alto, Checkpoint, Cisco Firepower, Cisco ASA & AnyConnect Remote Access)
• experience supporting (Enterprise) Wi-Fi technologies including Cisco WLC or others
• Troubleshooting and fault-finding routing issues (BGP, OSPF & EIGRP)
• Deep understanding of networking protocols (eg, IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP)
