A defense organization is seeking a Network Engineer for a 2-year program in Reading, UK. The role involves reviewing and migrating network infrastructure, requiring a diverse background in networking technologies and daily travel to the site.
At TEKsystems, we are working with a defense organization involved in advanced research, design, and manufacturing related to nuclear warheads. Our client manages the entire lifecycle of nuclear warheads, from initial concept and assessment to manufacturing, in-service support, and decommissioning.
The organization provides supercomputing and related services, utilizing Shasta River for research and simulation related to nuclear defense and security.
We are tasked with reviewing their networks, which operate on two security levels: high and low. The network infrastructure includes various kits, connections, switches, and firewalls, predominantly HP switches and Aruba, with mixed firewalls including Juniper.
The ideal candidate will have a diverse network background (Cisco, Juniper, HP, F5, Aruba, Fortinet), with experience in VLANs, NSX-T virtual networks, and security.
Your responsibilities will include reviewing the network, conducting discovery, planning migration strategies, and executing the migration to a cloud solution.
This is a 2-year program with a rolling 3-month contract, requiring the engineer to be able to travel daily to the site in Reading, UK.
