Overview
The Network Engineer is responsible for the stable operation and growth of the Chumash Enterprises network infrastructure. The Network Engineer is responsible for routing, switching, wireless, remote access, firewalls, and storage networks.
This role and its function are part of the Information Technology shared services model. A Team Member in asharedservice structure, works within a dedicated business unit (including people, processes, and technologies) that is structured as a centralized point of service and is focused on defined business functions. These units typically serve multiple business groups enterprise wide, and typically have established Service Level Agreements.
Responsibilities
- Plans, designs, implements, and documents highly available and secure networks.
- Proactively performs operational support of all data centers, campus, and remote network environments.
- Monitors and optimizes deployed networks and proactively addresses problems.
- Interacts and negotiates with vendors, consultants, and contractors to procure networking services and products.
- Develops and maintains documentation of deployed networks and related maintenance, installation, and configuration procedures.
- Provides Tier 2 support as requested and investigate problems.
- Repairs and recovers from network failures and communicates proactively with the incident or problem manager.
- Performs ongoing performance tuning, upgrades, and resource optimization as required.
- Acts as a subject matter expert for all data centers and network components.
- Mentors and trains team members on procedures for network configuration.

Qualifications
- High School diploma or GED certificate.
- Associate degree or equivalent work and educational experience in an infrastructure domain.
- Three years of experience in Information Technology in an infrastructure domain.
- Cisco Network and Datacenter training/certifications.
- Palo Alto Networks firewall experience.
- Extensive support experience with servers, networked applications, and remote access virtual private networks.
- Working technical knowledge of current virtualization, network and storage systems, hardware, protocols, and standards.
- Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience.
- Ability to conduct research into database issues, standards, and products as required.
- Must apply for, receive, and maintain a Gaming License from the Tribal Gaming Agency.

$83,567 annually
