Job summary

Leidos is recruiting a Network Engineer in Herefordshire to support a key MOD system, focusing on security and stability. You will manage a small but complex network, provide operational support, and contribute to project activities.

The role requires DV clearance or willingness to obtain it, hands-on network engineering experience, and a proactive approach to adopting new technologies while collaborating with stakeholders across technical and non-technical teams.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on network engineering experience with project delivery and network redesign.
  • Experience with monitoring, diagnostic and analytics tools.
  • Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing the workloads of others.

Network Engineer

Location: Herefordshire
Clearance: DV clearance required

Leidos is seeking a Network Engineer to support a key MOD system that ensures the national security of the UK. The role involves managing a small but complex network with a focus on security and stability, performing operational support and project activities, and staying current with emerging technologies.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and maintain the network infrastructure across multiple technologies.
  • Provide operational support and troubleshooting for network issues.
  • Lead specific project activities related to network upgrades and redesign.
  • Identify and recommend new technologies to improve performance and security.
  • Occasionally travel to Leidos or customer sites as required.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from technical and non‑technical backgrounds.
Qualifications
  • Current DV clearance or willingness to obtain it.
  • Hands‑on network engineering experience, including project delivery and network re‑design.
  • CCNP or equivalent certification.
  • Experience with monitoring, diagnostic and analytics tools.
  • Strong organisational, communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience managing the workloads of others.
Desirable
  • Knowledge of firewall technologies such as Cisco ASA and Palo Alto.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining Cisco Call Manager.
  • Mentoring or leading a small team of engineers.
  • Knowledge of radio technologies, specifically ROIP.
  • Experience working with industry partners and platform integrators.
