Job summary

Trust Systems Ltd in Corsham, Wiltshire, UK is seeking a Network Support Engineer to provide network and firewall support in a secure data centre. The role is fully on-site Mon-Fri with a UK Driving Licence.

You will troubleshoot hardware, VPNs, and bandwidth issues, monitor performance with standard tools, and participate in an on-call 24/7 service. A CCNA (or equivalent) is essential and BPSS/SC clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in a Network Support or Network Engineer role.
• Knowledge of networking technologies including switching and firewalls.
• Experience with VPNs, firewall configuration and network security.

Responsibilities

• Provide network and firewall support within a secure data centre environment.
• Troubleshoot hardware, connectivity, and bandwidth issues escalated from the service desk.
• Monitor network performance using industry-standard monitoring tools.
• Support installation and deployment of new equipment as part of upgrade and project work.
• Manage and update tickets via the service management system, ensuring SLA adherence.
• Participate in an on-call rota supporting a 24/7 service environment.

Job Overview

Key skills, experience, and qualifications

• Proven experience in a Network Support or Network Engineer role
• Strong knowledge of networking technologies, including switching and firewalls
• Experience troubleshooting and managing network infrastructure in a data centre or enterprise environment
• Understanding of network monitoring tools
• Cisco CCNA (or equivalent experience) is essential; higher certifications are desirable
• Experience with VPNs, firewall configuration, and network security principles

This is a fully on-site role, 5 days per week Mon-Fri. A valid UK Driving Licence is essential.
