The Senior Technical Network Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless access points, and related hardware. The role involves troubleshooting network issues and providing technical support to internal staff.

The role is home-based with requirement to travel (field)

What you'll do

• Customer Design:
  • Maintain expert-level understanding of our technical products and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Support presales activities by collaborating with the Presales team and offering technical expertise.
  • Test and validate new equipment, technologies, and services for interoperability.
  • Lead technical design and implementation of connectivity and TV infrastructure, including site surveys, configuration, documentation, and troubleshooting.
• In-Life Operations:
  • Provide third-line support for complex network issues and maintain strong customer relationships.
  • Oversee operational delivery of projects, ensuring quality and efficiency.
  • Manage and maintain edge network infrastructure for optimal performance.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
  • Manage configuration changes and vendor relationships effectively.

What you'll bring:

• Excellent stakeholder management and collaboration skills.
• Experience configuring and deploying Juniper Mist, Ruckus, Cisco, or Cradlepoint WAN/LAN/WLAN products.
• Experience with wireless controllers, switches, access points, and routers.
• Knowledge of network design including SD-WAN.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Professional certifications such as CWNP, CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent.
• Expertise in 802.11 wireless technologies and wireless network design using tools like Ekahau.
• Experience with APIs and scripting (Python, Bash) is advantageous.
• Understanding of SMATV, IPTV, and Fibre distribution systems is advantageous.
• Full UK Driving Licence required.
