Job title: Network Development Engineer

Location: Hampshire

Salary: £48k plus 10% DV bonus and 3% bonus

Candidate must be willing and eligible to undergo SC and DV clearance.

I am seeking a WAN Network Architect for a client operating within the UK defence sector, a leading IT systems integrator. Responsibilities:

1. Research, plan, evaluate, and create design artefacts (both high and low level) applying engineering design principles to develop solutions meeting customer requirements.
2. Automate deployment processes where possible and produce professional documentation for all components.
3. Provide 4th Line support directly with vendors to ensure successful resolution of issues.

Your transferable skills and experience:

• Experience delivering high-quality solutions and documentation using a structured approach for complex components.
• Proficiency in producing design artefacts such as architectural overview documents and high/low-level designs.
• Understanding of OSPF, EIGRP, and BGP routing protocols.
• Knowledge of NAT, GRE and DMVPN tunnelling protocols, subnetting, and supernetting.
• Ability to automate deployment of network configurations and software components in a verifiable manner.
• Experience supporting and maintaining work packages throughout the Customer Solution Lifecycle.
• Advanced knowledge of Cisco routing and switching appliances.
• Experience in impact assessments.
• Experience working on secure infrastructure solutions.
• Experience with Juniper SRX or Fortinet FortiGate is advantageous.
• Experience with Cisco ASA and McAfee MFE appliances is advantageous.
