Job description

Here at Northumbrian Water Group, we have an opportunity for a Network Design & Construction Field Engineer to join our Integrated Delivery Services (IDS) team. In this role, you will act as the business discipline expert for water infrastructure delivery, with ownership of the company Engineering Standard for infrastructure delivery and responsibility for providing authoritative technical guidance across IDS and the wider business. The role provides specialist pipeline, mains laying and civil infrastructure expertise from feasibility and early route definition through design, constructability review, construction support, commissioning and handover. It enables safe, efficient and technically robust delivery by supporting project teams, designers, contractors, operations and asset stakeholders to select practical solutions, manage technical risk, comply with standards and achieve resilient whole-life outcomes. You will provide technical input across all project phases, including feasibility, option selection, route definition, outline design, detailed design, construction planning, commissioning, handover and post-completion learning and support early project development by advising on route selection, access, land constraints, buildability, network operation, customer impact, environmental constraints, third-party interfaces and maintainability. As defined by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) Northumbrian Water is the Data Controller and ultimately responsible for ensuring the data you provide is kept secure, processed correctly and that you understand your legal rights in relation to the data you provide. By agreeing to this privacy statement, you are allowing us to form a contract that will mean we can use your details and information presented so that we can assess your suitability for employment with us and carry out our statistical analysis. Why do we collect this information and who do we share it with? We use some automated screening tools as part of this application process. The answers you provide to one or more of the questions (excluding any special categories/equal opportunity questions) may result in your application being automatically declined. This technology is used to help us manage the high volume of applications we receive and can assure applicants the same outcome would occur if we manually reviewed your application. The reason for the decline will be made available to you in your candidate account. We collect your data for statistical analysis or to extract it as part of a successful employee process in to our HR/Payroll system. Should you be successful from the application stage, you may be required to carry out a video interview. We use our third party provider, Tazio to carry this out. If you have practical and technical knowledge of water infrastructure delivery, including pipelines, mains laying, civil construction, testing, commissioning and handover, we would love to hear from you! You will have a strong understanding of CDM regulations, safety in design, constructability, operational risk and technical assurance.
