Network Control Technician

Contract Duration: 6 months with potential for extension

Pay Rate: £212.50 per day

Location: Liverpool

Work Arrangement: Hybrid (2 days onsite per week)

Working Hours: 7am - 4pm

Employment Type: Full-time, 5 days per week

Inside IR35: Yes

Role Overview:

The role involves managing events efficiently using alert systems like BigPanda, taking ownership of alerts, and troubleshooting with the help of Runbooks and SOPs. Basic knowledge of Splunk and Datadog supports system performance analysis and monitoring. An understanding of API concepts enhances technical capabilities. ITIL experience in Incident, Problem, and Change Management ensures adherence to best practices in IT service management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize ChatOps via Slack to create channels, coordinate resources, and engage with customers.
• Manage communication among customer service reps and engineers to ensure seamless service.
• Assist with user account management and basic security tasks, such as password unlocks.
• Guide users in creating tickets and navigating SOPs or Runbooks for issue resolution.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Experience with ChatOps, especially Slack.
• Customer service experience working with support teams and engineers.
• Familiarity with ServiceNow, Confluence, JIRA.
• Knowledge of IP subnetting and general IP concepts.
• Light Active Directory experience.
• Basic security knowledge, including password resets and user support.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with streaming platforms for gaming using MS Teams or similar.
• Event management experience with alert systems like BigPanda.
• Basic knowledge of Splunk and Datadog.
• Understanding of API concepts and applications.
• ITIL knowledge.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• 3-5 years of relevant experience.
• Degree from a four-year college (BA or BS).
