At Severn Trent, we’re embarking on an exciting £415m project to replace 870 miles of old water pipes across the Midlands – and we want you to be part of it. The new pipes we’re installing will last for up to 100 years. This is the biggest investment in water infrastructure in the region in a decade, and it’s set to improve water quality, reduce leaks, and make our water supply more reliable for millions of people.
We are looking for a Network Construction Lead Operative to join our team and be responsible for managing significant, large scale construction activity across multiple sites.
Key Responsibilities:
This role requires a 42-hour work week, Monday to Friday, starting at 7:30 AM and ending at 4:30 PM, with a half-hour early finish at 4:00 PM on Fridays.
Key Accountabilities:
What You’ll Bring to the Role:
The right candidate will have experience of working on Mains Renewal schemes and/or a formal NCO Qualification, working within a utility-based industry. You will coordinate activity and support a team, liaising with internal and external stakeholders in a construction environment.
You’ll have the ability to demonstrate awareness and practical experience of CDM Regulations, identify risks & opportunities, and be trained in Utility Avoidance and Location, Thrust Boring, Safe Digging, and 360 Excavator below 10T. You also have completed all NRSWA modules.
Additionally, knowledge and understanding of Mains Renewal processes, options, and associated risks, ability to work effectively and efficiently in a high-pressure environment, make prompt clear decisions, have excellent communication skills, and have experience of coordinating activities and supporting a team, preferably in a construction environment.
As travel is required, you’ll also need to hold a full U.K driving license.
