Job summary

IT Works Recruitment LTD is seeking a NetSuite Systems Accountant to join our finance and systems team. You will be the key link between Finance, IT and the wider business, combining a finance background with hands-on NetSuite experience.

You will understand finance processes from both accounting and systems perspectives, improve NetSuite configurations, workflows, saved searches and dashboards, and support month-end close and financial reporting.

Job description

We are looking for a NetSuite Systems Accountant to join our finance and systems team, acting as the key link between Finance, IT and the wider business.

This is a hands‑on role for someone who combines a strong finance/accounting background with practical NetSuite experience. You will need to understand how finance processes work from both an accounting and systems perspective, while being comfortable getting into NetSuite and making improvements yourself.

The successful candidate will be finance qualified or part-qualified and have a strong understanding of processes such as P2P, O2C, R2R, month‑end, reconciliations, reporting, controls and financial data, alongside hands‑on experience administering and optimising NetSuite.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the Finance subject matter expert for NetSuite, supporting users across the business.
• Work closely with Finance teams to understand requirements and translate them into effective NetSuite solutions.
• Support and improve core finance processes including P2P, O2C, R2R, month‑end close, reconciliations and financial reporting.
• Maintain and enhance NetSuite configurations, workflows, saved searches, dashboards, reports and roles/permissions.
• Support system changes, upgrades and new functionality, including testing, UAT and release management.
• Investigate system issues and work with Finance and IT teams to identify and implement solutions.
• Support data integrity and financial controls within NetSuite.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end processes, ensuring the system supports accurate and timely financial reporting.
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve efficiency across Finance.
• Work with stakeholders to document requirements, map processes and recommend system improvements.
• Support integrations between NetSuite and other business systems.
• Provide training and guidance to Finance users and act as an escalation point for NetSuite-related queries.
• Work with external NetSuite partners and consultants where required.
• Support NetSuite projects, enhancements and wider finance transformation initiatives.

What We're Looking For

Finance / Accounting

• Finance or accounting qualification is essential – ACA, ACCA, CIMA, AAT or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of core accounting principles and financial processes.
• Practical experience across areas such as:
• Purchase to Pay (P2P)
• Order to Cash (O2C)
• Record to Report (R2R)
• Month‑end close
• Balance sheet reconciliations
• Management reporting
• General ledger
• Comfortable working closely with Finance Directors, Financial Controllers, Management Accountants and wider Finance teams.

NetSuite

• Hands‑on experience working with Oracle NetSuite.
• Experience administering and supporting NetSuite within a finance environment.
• Strong knowledge of Saved Searches, Dashboards, Reports and Workflows.
• Experience with NetSuite configuration and system optimisation.
• Experience supporting UAT, testing, releases and system changes.li>
• Ability to investigate issues and understand how system configuration impacts finance processes.
• Experience with NetSuite OneWorld would be advantageous.
• Exposure to SuiteAnalytics, SuiteFlow, SuiteScript, SuiteTalk or integrations would be beneficial.
