Job summary

Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Ward Clerk to join the Neonatal Team at Wirral Women and Children's Hospital.

The role supports the Neonatal Unit with admin, reception duties, and patient bookings, working 26 hours over three days (Wed- Fri) using Cerner Millennium to manage admissions and discharges.

You will collaborate with nurses, midwives and a multidisciplinary team, ensuring safe, high-quality care for babies and families.

Qualifications

• NVQ 2 in a relevant subject or equivalent experience of working in an administrative role.
• Educated to GCSE or equivalent.
• Previous experience in an NHS acute hospital.
• Previous experience of the Cerner Millennium information system.
• ECDL.

Responsibilities

• Booking appointments and rescheduling when needed.
• Answering telephone queries and acting on them appropriately.
• Using Cerner Millennium to admit, transfer and discharge patients.
• Reception duties and supporting maternity patients and visitors.
