Job summary

Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated Registered Nurse to join the Hugo Liebeschuetz Neonatal Unit at Southend Hospital. This Band 5 role is a 37.5 hour per week fixed-term post (12 months) to cover maternity leave, based at Southend with the Neonatal unit’s Stage 2 UNICEF standards.

You will work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, delivering high-quality care to sick and premature babies and supporting families.

Qualifications

• NMC Registration is required.
• Experience in an acute clinical environment.
• Good level of English language demonstrated through effective communication.
• Previous NHS experience in acute care and competencies at an advanced level.
• Evidence of link nurse duties or involvement in auditing and training.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Manager in delivering high-quality care and a seamless service in the Neonatal unit.
• Contribute to infection prevention and control as per evidence and legislation.
• Work with the multidisciplinary team and Trust policies within the Neonatal unit.
• Support the Paediatric Directorate including outpatient services and A&E.
• Pursue ongoing professional development aligned with the Trust career pathway.
