Job summary

The Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Neonatal Staff Nurse. The post is full time (37.5 hours) with part-time hours available, based in Swindon.

You will work in an 18-cot neonatal unit (Level 2) providing care from 27 weeks gestation and above, with opportunities for personal development and simulation training.

NHS/UK nursing or student experience is essential, with a focus on family-centered care and teamwork across shifts.

Qualifications

• NHS/UK nursing or student experience essential.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate neonatal care on a shift-by-shift basis for babies and families.
• Ensure safe dispensing of medications within Trust and NMC guidelines.
• Co-ordinate admission, transfer and discharge of neonates per Trust policy.
• Support families in care decisions and feeding choices, including newborn screening where appropriate.
• Participate in staff education, supervision and evidence-based practice within the unit.
