Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Band 6 Neonatal Nurse to join the busy Local Neonatal Unit, offering full or part-time hours. The 28 cot unit includes ITU/HDU, Special Care and Transitional Care, with Family Integrated Care and active support groups.
You will lead nursing care, provide evidence-based practice, and mentor juniors within a multidisciplinary team. The post requires neonatal qualification and recent experience, with induction and training provided.

The 28 cot unit consists of 12 ITU/HDU, 16 Special Care and, 4 Transitional Care cots & developing outreach. The unit has a collaborative approach to care with good working relationships within the multi-disciplinary team and is lucky to be housed in a modern purpose built Women's Centre with excellent facilities for both staff and families. We practice Family Integrated Care and have special interest groups for Infant Feeding, Developmental Care and Palliative Care. HOPE and SHED parent support groups are well embedded on the unit.

As an experienced member of the neonatal team, you will be responsible for the delivery of high quality, evidence-based care to babies and their families. You will need to have a relevant neonatal qualification and recent experience. Leadership experience would be useful but not essential as full support and training will be given.
All new staff are offered a 6-8 week supernumerary induction programme and assigned named mentors. Ongoing, continuous, professional development is an expectation of all Unit staff.
Opportunities to undertake Quality Improvement training and projects are available to all staff. Recent projects undertaken by staff have included the introduction of Family Integrated Care and implementing ACE awareness to reduce risk to babies and promote resilience in families.
