Job summary

Together Housing Group seeks a Neighbourhood Officer to manage a patch of properties across Rossendale. This field-based role blends community engagement with office days to deliver high-quality tenancy management and customer support, travelling across Haslingden, Crawshawbooth, Lumb, Waterfoot, Bacup, Newchurch, Edenfield, Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall.

You will work with residents, partners and stakeholders to resolve issues, support tenancy sustainment and help build sustainable communities,

Qualifications

• Full UK driver’s licence and access to a car.
• Experience and knowledge of housing/lettings or social housing.
• Proven experience in dealing with the public, in person and on the phone, including distressed individuals.
• Strong face-to-face customer service skills and handling sensitive information.
• Personal resilience to a fast‑paced, demanding role.

Responsibilities

• Address ASB, manage lettings and property exchanges, oversee repairs, rent management and safeguarding.
• Collaborate with multi‑agency teams and participate in meetings to improve community support and service quality.
• Advise residents on housing issues, conduct viewings and manage lettings per policy, act as primary contact for housing management.
• Manage neighbourhood with remote work and allocate time between field and home, including office days for team meetings and training.

About the Role

We are looking for a Neighbourhood Officer to manage a patch of properties across Rossendale. This is a field-based role, offering a balance of home and community-based working, where you'll play a key role in delivering high-quality tenancy management services, providing excellent customer support, and helping to build strong, sustainable communities.

You'll work closely with customers, local partners, and stakeholders to resolve issues, support tenancy sustainment, and enhance community resilience.

The role covers properties across Haslingden, Crawshawbooth, Lumb, Waterfoot, Bacup, Newchurch, Edenfield, Ramsbottom and Rawtenstall, so the ability to travel regularly throughout the area is essential.

Responsibilities

• As a Neighbourhood Officer, you will leverage your expertise in general needs housing management and estate management standards. Key responsibilities include addressing anti-social behaviour (ASB), managing lettings and property exchanges, overseeing repairs, handling rent management, and ensuring safeguarding
• Collaborate with multi‑agency teams and participate in meetings to improve community support and service quality while achieving performance goals.
• Advise residents on housing issues, including legal rights and tenancy responsibilities. Conduct property viewings and manage lettings according to policies. Serve as the primary contact for housing management, enforcing tenancy conditions for property and garden maintenance.
• Your role includes managing your neighbourhood and remote work, with office days for team collaboration, meetings, and training. This structure encourages innovation and personal development, allowing effective schedule management

Requirements

• Full UK drivers licence and access to a car as the role is field based
• Experience and knowledge of housing/ lettings or ideally social housing
• Demonstrating proven experience in dealing with the public both in person and over the phone, skilled in managing sensitive situations where individuals may be distressed, anxious, or reluctant to accept advice
• Strong face‑to‑face customer service skills and ability to handle sensitive information. Proven experience with diverse customers and effective situation management. Self‑motivated with a solution‑focused approach
• Personal resilience to manage a fast‑paced, demanding role, juggling multiple tasks efficiently

Benefits

• Starting salary of £33,758 per annum
• 27 days holiday(rising to 32 over 5 years' service) + bank holidays
• Hybrid working - you will manage your week by dividing your time between working in the field and from home
