Job summary

Lancashire County Council's Early Help Service in Preston and Chorley seeks a Neighbourhood Group Worker to deliver group sessions for children, parents and families. You will develop programmes on health, wellbeing, parenting and relationships and build strong, safe spaces for learning in diverse communities.

The role requires flexible working including evenings and some weekends, with a focus on safeguarding and strong communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Level 2 qualification or substantial experience in a relevant field.
• Strong interpersonal and group work skills.
• Knowledge of issues affecting children and families.
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities.
• Commitment to safeguarding, equality and health and safety.

Responsibilities

• Deliver group work sessions for children, parents and families.
• Develop and deliver programmes focusing on health, wellbeing, parenting and relationships.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with families and create safe learning spaces.
• Maintain accurate records and uphold safeguarding standards.
• Work flexibly including evenings and occasional weekends as needed.
• Work with Level 2 qualification or substantial experience in a relevant field.
• Demonstrate strong interpersonal and group work skills.
