Job summary

Altrad UK, Ireland & Nordics seeks an experienced NEC4 Supervisor based in Glasgow to oversee construction and engineering activities in a highly regulated nuclear defence environment. You will ensure NEC4 contract compliance, monitor workmanship, identify defects, and support safe, high-quality project delivery.

The role requires site presence and a solid background in NEC4, safety compliance and contractor management.

Qualifications

• Excellent knowledge of NEC4 contracts and an understanding of CDM and Health & Safety.
• Ideally a Technical Painter background.
• ONC/OND or equivalent in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS).
• Excellent working knowledge of NEC4 contracts.
• CITB CSCS Gold card.
• Previous ONR/DNR site experience.
• CITB CSCS Black card.
• NEC4 Supervisor accreditation.
• First Aid certificate.
• IOSH Managing Safely.

Responsibilities

• Fulfil the duties of the NEC4 Supervisor, acting in a spirit of mutual trust and cooperation.
• Inspect, test, and monitor works to ensure compliance with contract requirements, specifications, quality standards, and Health & Safety obligations.
• Identify, notify, and manage defects through to resolution, maintaining accurate site records and supporting commercial processes.
• Review and witness testing and commissioning activities, including FAT and SAT, and assess associated documentation.
• Manage project records, quality metrics, lessons learned, and performance reporting.
• Support stakeholder engagement, contractor coordination, and efficient project delivery throughout the project lifecycle.
• Monitor contractor competence, certification, and compliance with site permit and operational requirements.
• Provide advice to the Project Manager on contractor performance, risks, and project-related concerns.
