Job description

Role: NDT Technician (UT - Level 2)

Location: Wirral - site, onshore and offshore work

Salary: £40,000-45,000 plus (£120 per day onshore, £175 per day offshore)

Russell Taylor Group has a fantastic opportunity for two NDT Engineers to join a market leader in inspecting and testing for one of our clients on the Wirral. The roles have arisen due to growth!

One position will specialise in UT testing (Level 2), and the other is more multi-disciplined (UT, Phased Array & Eddy Current). The latter requires SC clearance due to the high confidentiality of the projects.

The role requires on-site presence Monday-Friday, with reactive projects involving onshore/UK and offshore work, potentially requiring weeks away from home depending on project length.

Responsibilities

1. Execute corrosion mapping and welding inspection.
2. Conduct Ultrasonic and Eddy Current testing on marine, offshore structures, and plant equipment.
3. Create detailed technical reports for corrosion mapping and customer documentation, maintaining high quality standards.
4. Assist in equipment checks, calibrations, and competency tasks.
5. Perform tasks in line with quality management systems, industry standards, and client specifications.
6. Identify potential issues or non-conformances.
7. Perform technical demonstrations for new and key clients, including project work and technical reports.

The Person

1. Experience in an NDT role, with PCN Level 2 Ultrasonic Testing in castings, forgings, and welds.
2. Experience with Eddy Current Testing.
3. Flexibility to travel within the UK and internationally, and respond to short-notice trips.
4. Strong understanding of advanced NDT methods.
5. Experience in corrosion mapping surveys.
6. Background in Marine, Offshore, Oil & Gas, or energy industries.
7. Ability to interpret schematics.
8. Full UK driving license.
9. Highly motivated with excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
