Russell Taylor Group have a fantastic opportunity for two NDT Engineers to join a market leader in inspecting and testing for one of our clients on the Wirral. The roles have come about due to growth! One of the positions will specialise in UT testing (Level 2) and the other is more multi-disciplined (UT, Phased Array & Eddy Current) but requires SC clearance due to the high confidential projects that you will be working on. The role will require you to be on site Monday-Friday, but you will be expected to be reactive to projects which will involve onshore/UK and offshore work, which means you could be away from home for a number of weeks at a time depending on the length of the project.

Responsibilities:

  1. Execute corrosion mapping and welding inspection.
  2. Conduct Ultrasonic and Eddy Current testing methods on Marine, offshore structures and plant equipment.
  3. Create detailed technical reports for corrosion mapping and for customers - this must be written to a high quality due to the customers that you will be working with.
  4. Assist in equipment checks, calibrations and competency tasks.
  5. Perform tasks with due diligence ensuring they are in line with quality management systems, industry standards and client specifications.
  6. Identify any potential issues or non-conformances.
  7. Perform technical demonstrations to new and key clients - project work and informative technical pieces.

The Person:

  1. Previous experience in an NDT position - looking for PCN Level 2 Ultrasonic Testing in castings, forgings and welds.
  2. Experience of Eddy Current Testing.
  3. Must be very flexible to travel (UK and Internationally) and be reactive to short notice trips.
  4. Excellent understanding of advanced NDT methods.
  5. Experience in corrosion mapping surveys.
  6. Experience within the Marine, Offshore, Oil & Gas or energy industries.
  7. Experience of interpreting schematics.
  8. Full UK Driving licence.
  9. Highly motivated.
  10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
