Job summary

Russell Taylor Group is seeking an experienced QA/QC Engineer with a site background for a major industrial project in the UK. The role focuses on tank inspections, welding controls, NDE oversight, and stringent material traceability.

Essential: Level 2 CSWIP 3.1 and 5+ years in boilers, piping, or heavy industrial QA/QC. Initial 3-month scope with potential involvement in constructability reviews.

Qualifications

• 5+ years QA/QC inspection experience in boilers, piping, or heavy industrial environments.
• Level 2 CSWIP 3.1 qualification is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of storage tanks.
• Verify welding activities including fit-up, welding parameters, weld mapping, and compliance.
• Confirm welder qualifications and ensure consumables and welding processes meet specification requirements.
• Witness and review NDE activities (UT, RT, MT, PT) and confirm acceptance to relevant standards.
• Verify material traceability including heat numbers, MTRs, and PMI requirements where applicable.
• Witness pressure testing/hydrostatic testing and ensure test preparation and documentation is completed correctly.
• Record inspection results, produce reports, and support compilation of QA/QC documentation and turnover packs.
• Raise quality concerns and NCRs, supporting corrective action implementation and close‑out.
• Liaise with contractors, site supervision, and client representatives to ensure quality expectations are met.

Job description

Do you hold Level 2 CSWIP 3.1? Are you an experienced Weld Inspector with site background? Do you have an industrial O&G / Petrochem background?

We're looking for experienced QA/QC Engineers to join a major industrial project supporting a programme of tankage works at Bacton.

Initial scope is for approx. 3 months, with potential involvement in early constructability meetings mid-Oct if available

ESSENTIAL

Level 2 CSWIP 3.1 - (no need to apply if you do not possess live tickets)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform inspections of storage tanks
• Verify welding activities including fit-up, welding parameters, weld mapping, and compliance.
• Confirm welder qualifications and ensure consumables and welding processes meet specification requirements.
