Job summary

Sizewell C Company is seeking an experienced NDT Manager to act as technical authority for non-destructive testing across a complex safety-critical programme. You will manage NDT strategy, procedures, and subcontractors while delivering PAUT/RT in nuclear, reactor-related environments.

You will lead and mentor NDT teams, ensure compliance with IRR17 and relevant standards, and coordinate with clients and delivery teams across the UK and France. This pivotal role supports the Sizewell C project.

Qualifications

• PCN or BS EN ISO 9712 Level 3, or CSWIP Level 3, in UT with PAUT and RT.
• 5–10 years of hands-on PAUT experience in industrial NDT.
• Proven experience leading NDT teams and complex inspection programmes.
• Experience in nuclear, pressure equipment, oil & gas, or highly regulated environments.
• Ability to write, qualify and approve NDT procedures and techniques.
• Strong defect sizing, sizing & acceptance criteria understanding.
• Familiarity with BS EN ISO 13588/17640/17636 and EN 12668; IRR17 know-how.
• Ability to interpret drawings and communicate with clients and teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as NDT technical authority across transverse engineered scope.
• Own method selection, procedures, inspection techniques and criteria.
• Review and approve NDT procedures, technique sheets and certifications.
• Lead PAUT qualification for pools, tanks, IC Liner; PAUT/TOFD approaches.
• Hold radiographic testing interface and radiation-protection for SafeRad activities.
• Review inspection data, reports, defect sizing and assessments.
• Plan NDT capacity against welding programme to protect critical path.
• Manage NDT subcontractors, equipment, spares, calibration and records.
• Lead, mentor and develop NDT staff and subcontractors.
• Report monthly on activity, compliance, repair rates and backlog.
• Conduct supplier facility surveillance; ensure LTQR records.
