NDT Development Team Leader

Location - Reading / Basingstoke

Salary: £49,480 - £68,000 (depending on your suitability and level of experience)

Working pattern: AWE operates a 9-day working fortnight. We will consider flexible working requests so that your work may fit in with your lifestyle. Just let us know your preferred working pattern on your application.

Let Us Introduce The Role

You will lead and manage Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) resource within Production Quality, delivering to Programmes and working with numerous internal or external stakeholders within their specific area. Work as part of a cross functional team to deliver improvement through collaboration.

Successful Candidates Will Be Responsible For

  • Lead and manage the NDT Development team in the execution of tasks to meet incoming demand.
  • Support NDT staff in their Continued Professional Development.
  • Plan and manage NDT team resource deployed within Product Engineering.
  • Lead duties to support the Safe System of Work for NDT.
  • Ensure delivery to time and quality of NDT technical assessments and inspection results using appropriate methodologies.
  • Engagement with the wider team, relevant AWE stakeholders and other functions to deliver improved output.
  • Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality.
  • The Company may require you to fulfil any other reasonable duties aligned to your position from time to time in line with business needs.

Who are we looking for?

  • Previous experience working in an engineering or similar NDT field.
  • Understanding of NDT and Quality Inspection in the context of Product Engineering.
  • HNC/HND or higher in an engineering/physics background.
  • Someone who can inspire others and is a great team player.
