Job summary

Babcock is recruiting a Non-Destructive Examination Engineer for HMNB Clyde Faslane, Helensburgh. You will deliver inspection and quality assurance across submarine maintenance, using radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant and visual testing techniques.

Day-to-day you will interpret results, produce precise reports, and support engineering decisions while collaborating with cross-functional teams in a highly regulated defence environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with non-destructive examination techniques.
• Understanding of inspection procedures, standards and quality requirements.
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to explain technical findings.
• Ability to produce accurate inspection reports and maintain records.
• Experience in regulated environments such as defence or marine.

Responsibilities

• Conduct non-destructive examinations per specifications and standards.
• Perform radiographic, ultrasonic, magnetic particle, liquid penetrant and visual testing inspections.
• Interpret results and produce technical reports and documentation.
• Support maintenance and repair through defect identification and engineering assurance.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations and quality teams to ensure compliance and continuous improvement.
