Capita is recruiting a Workshop/Handskills Trainer to support the Royal Navy trainees at HMS Sultan in Gosport. The role focuses on practical hand skills development, coaching and mentoring within a structured learning environment. Full teacher training is provided on site.

The position is full-time, Term-time based (45 weeks/year), with pro-rata salary up to £39,000 and benefits including volunteering days and enhanced family leave.

Qualifications

• Strong engineering background (mechanical/fabrication preferred).
• Practical workshop experience with hand tools and machinery.
• Proficiency in IT (hardware/software).

Responsibilities

• Introduce and develop practical hand skills (fitting and filing).
• Teach interpretation of basic technical drawings.
• Instruct on safe use of workshop equipment and safety practices.
