Qualifications

• Proven experience in structural steel repair and fabrication
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
• Skilled in using fabrication tools and workshop machinery
• Experience in marine engineering or similar sectors
• Strong understanding of safety and quality standards in heavy engineering environments
• Indentured Apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in fabrication, structural steel, or sheet metal work

Responsibilities

• Perform structural repairs to steel hulls and decks using burning and grinding techniques
• Translate engineering documents into fabrication plans
• Installing and joining plate, steel and structural materials
• Fabricate and assemble plate and steelwork using specialist tools and equipment
• Cutting, shaping and assembling steel plates and components
