Job summary

Babcock Mission Critical Services España SA in Plymouth offers a Materials Engineering Graduate Programme designed to apply materials science, welding engineering and metallurgy to naval platforms.

You will rotate through sections such as Metallurgy, Welding Design and NDT, gaining hands-on experience while supporting critical defence programmes and career development toward Chartered Engineer status.

Qualifications

• BEng, MEng, BSc or MSc in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing, Welding, Metallurgy, Fabrication, Aerospace or Naval Architecture.
• Industrial experience or placements are desirable in materials, marine engineering or defence.
• Security clearance requirements may apply (BPSS, SC, NNPI) and nationality considerations apply.

Responsibilities

• Support UK defence programmes in materials science, welding engineering and metallurgy.
• Contribute to additive manufacturing, welding design and inspection/joining techniques.
• Collaborate across disciplines to deliver solutions for Royal Navy and MOD.
