Job summary

As an Operation Support Engineer at Babcock, based at the Plymouth/Devonport site, you will coordinate maintenance, repair and refit activities for Royal Navy warships, ensuring safety and timely delivery. You will work with engineers, subcontractors and project teams to plan and document work and maintain compliance with safety standards.

This full-time role requires flexibility in a fast-paced marine environment, with opportunities to contribute to national defence while developing your career

Qualifications

• Experience using Microsoft Office for documentation and coordination.
• Knowledge of health and safety principles in an operating/engineering environment.
• Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and contractors.
• Previous experience in a marine, shipbuilding, ship repair or defence environment is advantageous.
• Experience in scaffolding, painting, slinging or other itinerant trades would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Create management tasks, work packages and control documentation to support maintenance activities.
• Write risk assessments, method statements and other safety-related documentation.
• Liaise with contractors, customers and stakeholders to coordinate project activities.
• Support the oversight and coordination of specialist subcontractors working on-site.
• Manage scaffold requests and ensure work requirements are processed efficiently and within project timescales.
