Job summary

Babcock International Group offers a 10-12‑week Engineering Undergraduate Summer Internship in Scotland. You’ll work on defence programmes and cutting‑edge technologies, learning how complex projects are delivered from design to maintenance while collaborating with experienced teams.

You’ll gain hands‑on experience in marine, electrical and mechanical systems, naval architecture and project management, developing problem solving, testing, documentation and clear communication.

Qualifications

• To be studying a Science, Technology, Engineering or Maths (STEM) based degree in a relevant subject, such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering or Systems Engineering.
• Security clearance requirements apply; BPSS clearance must be achievable for this programme per GOV.UK guidance.

Responsibilities

• Build knowledge of marine engineering, electrical and mechanical systems, naval architecture, systems design, health and safety, and project management.
• Develop skills in problem‑solving, technical analysis, testing and validation, communication, engineering tools and software, collaboration, and technical documentation.
• Develop behaviours needed to become a professional engineer, including professionalism, adaptability, resilience, safety awareness, attention to detail and continuous learning.
• Work on defence programmes and cutting‑edge technologies alongside experienced teams.
