Job summary

NatureScot in Scotland is offering an 18‑month Apprentice National Nature Reserve Officer position at Creag Meagaidh NNR or Beinn Eighe NNR. The role combines hands-on reserve work with a Land and Nature Apprenticeship, supporting habitat restoration and public engagement.

You will work within a team, gaining practical skills in estate work, species management, and project coordination, with onsite and field duties in various NNR locations.

Qualifications

• Demonstrate an interest in and passion for nature and nature restoration.
• Be willing to work outdoors in all conditions and remote situations.
• Be ready to undertake and complete a Modern Apprenticeship in Land and Nature.
• Be prepared to attend off-the-job training.
• Have a positive attitude towards learning on the job.

Responsibilities

• Assist with habitat and species management and restoration tasks.
• Support deer stalking and management activities.
• Carry out practical estate work including fencing, paths, and maintenance.
• Contribute to reserve management activities and monitoring.
• Work with volunteers and support public engagement and events.
