Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is seeking an Engagement & Skills Officer to turn the Local Nature Recovery Strategy into practical action. You will engage with authorities, organisations, communities and businesses, helping them apply LNRS priorities, and you will develop tools and deliver training to support uptake.

You will also organise workshops and manage digital content, reporting on activity and assisting with budgeting. Some work outside normal hours may be required.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification and/or demonstrable relevant experience.
• Experience in stakeholder engagement with diverse audiences and partners.
• Experience developing education, learning and guidance materials using recognized techniques.
• Proven ability to produce technical and non-technical reports and stakeholder communications.
• Knowledge of local environment, biodiversity and digital engagement techniques.
• Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills; ability to influence decisions.
• Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Teams.
• A valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
• Commitment to accessible and inclusive services.

Responsibilities

• Engage with multiple sectors and apply LNRS priorities to plans, policies, projects and investment decisions.
• Organise workshops, events and other engagement activities.
• Develop guidance, toolkits, case studies and learning materials; deliver training.
• Manage LNRS website and digital content; evaluate engagement and learning activities.
• Prepare reports for a range of audiences; contribute to budget planning and monitoring.
