Job summary

Southern Water’s Environment & Innovation team is expanding to deliver nature-based solutions across Hampshire. The Nature-based Solutions Specialist will support regulatory programmes, conduct ecological evaluations, and advise on planning and development to protect water quality and biodiversity.

This full-time, hybrid role offers site visits, collaboration with contractors, and opportunities to influence environmental strategy through reporting and engagement with industry forums.

Qualifications

• Expertise in ecology and restoration of rivers and wetlands.
• Experience with environmental policy, planning and development.
• Strong technical report writing skills.
• Ability to deliver multi-disciplinary tasks on time with high quality.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Support delivery of regulatory programme, assisting the Principal Nature-based Solutions Specialist in investigations, impact assessments and compliance.
• Conduct technical evaluations and recommendations on nature-based measures to mitigate environmental challenges.
• Provide Nature-based Solutions guidance to ecology, planning and development teams and policy.
• Contribute to industry forums promoting Southern Water's Catchment First approach.
