Job summary

St John Ambulance is seeking a National Trainer to deliver and assess courses to required standards. The role requires travel across England with regular overnight stays and an administrative base.

You will train with staff, casual workers and volunteers, ensuring high standards and compliance with St John requirements. The ideal candidate has Level 3 or higher assess/teach qualifications, experience presenting to adult groups, and a valid UK driving license.

Qualifications

  • Trainers with an Assessing and Training Qualification at Level 3 or above (e.g. CiLD).
  • Experience of teaching, coaching, assessing and/or presenting to groups of adults.
  • Required to travel extensively with overnight stays and hold a valid UK Driving Licence.
  • First aid training experience would be a distinct advantage.
  • People who are passionate, adaptable and engaging.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver training courses and conduct assessments to a professional and consistent standard in accordance with St John Ambulance requirements.
  • Maintain own subject and professional competence in accordance with organisational requirements.
  • Building security, opening and closing venues and lone working.
  • Work with permanent staff, casual workers and volunteers to maintain good relationships and high standards of training and assessing.
  • Pilot new initiatives in training when required.
  • Accurate completion and prompt submission of all relevant course documentation.

This is an opportunity to join us at an exciting time, as a National Trainer you will play a pivotal role to deliver and assess St John Ambulance courses to the required standard and content. This role will have an administrative place of work, but the successful candidate will be willing and able to travel throughout England to deliver training with regular overnight stays.
