Job summary

Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Estates is seeking a Legionella & Water Hygiene Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead national BAU water safety activities and provide technical assurance across a diverse UK-wide estate.

The role requires collaboration with a fellow SME and external partners to manage Water Risk Assessments, Written Schemes of Control, and compliance evidence in line with ACOP L8 and HSG274.

Responsibilities

• Act as a DWP Estates Responsible Person for Water Safety and Water Hygiene Subject Matter Expert.
• Maintain an effective, relevant and compliant water management system across the estate.
• Oversee water hygiene and Legionella risk across a complex multi-site portfolio.
• Identify, assess, control, monitor, rectify and escalate risks appropriately.
• Provide independent technical advice, assurance and engineering challenge on water safety.
