Job summary

NHS Blood and Transplant is seeking an Education and Training Lead Nurse to shape the nursing workforce within Therapeutic Apheresis Services. You will design and deliver education and professional development, support induction and competency, and help ensure practice reflects current standards and evidence across NHSBT.

This national role offers hybrid working, with base locations mutually agreed, and a focus on leadership, coaching and collaboration with colleagues and external partners to

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current NMC registration and valid practising certificate.
• Master's degree in nursing or equivalent experience.
• Teaching/assessing qualification such as ENB 998, Mentorship in Practice or NVQ A1/A2.
• Leadership training or management experience.
• Full driving licence and access to a car.
• Commitment to continuing professional development (CPD).

Responsibilities

• Lead and improve education and training programmes for nurses.
• Support induction, competency assessment and ongoing development.
• Deliver practical training, events and CPD activities.
• Collaborate with NHSBT colleagues and external partners.
• Provide expert advice to support safe therapeutic apheresis practice.
• Shape professional standards and learning culture.
• Assess training needs and develop learning resources.
• Support nurses with revalidation and mandatory training compliance.
• Promote evidence-based practice and evaluate training outcomes.
