Job summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking an Apheresis Lead Nurse to take clinical leadership of the specialist apheresis nursing service within the BMTCT programme. The role includes autonomous management of the service, staff development and on-call duties.

The successful candidate will lead a multidisciplinary team, drive quality and safety standards, and work with regional partners to maintain HTA and JACIE accreditation.

Qualifications

• NMC Registered Nurse with current registration.
• Postgraduate certificate (Level 7) or Master’s degree in relevant specialty.
• Specialist training/qualification in area of practice.
• HEI-approved course in supporting learners in practice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the apheresis nursing service and on-call provision.
• Provide expert nursing assessment and care for patients and donors undergoing apheresis.
• Develop clinical practice and lead service improvement across the pathway.
• Coordinate staff development, audits, and adherence to HTA and JACIE standards.
