Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is recruiting for an Operational Leader to head a nationally dispersed team within the CFCD at the Department for Work and Pensions in Birmingham. You will lead surveillance authorisation across the organisation, ensuring lawful, proportionate and ethical activity while delivering robust quality assurance and governance.

You will drive improvements, manage resources, coach staff, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support IPCO inspections

Qualifications

• Experience leading national teams and delivering complex surveillance governance.
• Strong knowledge of data protection, privacy and human rights frameworks (DPA, UK GDPR, CPIA, ECHR).
• Ability to drive improvements through quality assurance processes.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and optimise resources to meet performance objectives.
• Manage performance, quality and attendance with regular reviews.
• Lead governance activities, assurance reviews and reporting.
• Oversee surveillance-related IT systems ensuring data integrity and security.
• Prepare for IPCO inspections and implement recommendations.
