Job summary

Gleeson Homes in Sheffield is seeking a Group Engineering Manager to shape the engineering strategy across our development pipeline. You'll collaborate with Regional teams and senior leadership to deliver robust technical solutions, support land opportunities, and drive engineering excellence.

This role combines strategic oversight with hands-on technical leadership, managing consultants and ensuring Temporary Works compliance, planning support, and delivery of nationally important housing

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification or extensive experience.
• Understanding of residential development process from land acquisition to delivery.
• Experience managing consultants and multidisciplinary project teams.
• Strong knowledge of Temporary Works legislation and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering aspects of the Group Technical function.
• Improve Temporary Works procedures and ensure legal compliance.
• Coordinate with Regional teams to ensure adherence to standards.
• Provide engineering input to support land bids and development activities.
• Identify risks and opportunities with clear, actionable recommendations.
• Prepare and manage project programmes including critical path monitoring.
