We have an exciting role to join a well known and highly successful foodservice company with ambitious growth plans. To continue with their exciting growth plans, they are looking for a National Account Manager to join their team.
Job Title National Account Manager New Business
Department Sales
Reports to Director of Sales National
Responsibilities
- Accountability for achieving Sales and Margin targets based on a commercial plan
- Win and professionally handover profitable new business to facilitate achievement of budgeted targets
- New Business priority is accounts between turnover of £1m-£3.5m, in certain instances pursuing accounts larger than that banding
- Maintain a sufficient number of new prospect and pipeline opportunities to ensure sales targets are exceeded
- Work with internal departments to maximise sales and income margin
- Visit potential National prospect customers around fixed, planned appointments to gain insight and present solutions
- Engage Sales Managers to handover leads not relevant to the role to allow the existing customer sales team to work on them
- Review existing channels of New Business incoming leads and work with internal teams to gain inbound opportunities from other sources (e.g., procurement companies and government frameworks)
- Project manage mobilisation working groups to onboard new business
- Work with Bid Team, Marketing and Trading to produce exceptional New Business tenders which are commercially viable and showcase client-specific value
- Maintain understanding of prospect portfolio and potential sales and income margin
- Collaborate with Sales Analyst to strengthen profitability modelling and with Bid Team on tender position
- Ensure timely fulfillment of administrative and reporting requirements for day-to-day and ad-hoc work
- Attend Regional and National events to network, host exhibition space, and increase sector knowledge
- Work with Marketing to generate lead-based activity (exhibitions, e-shots, direct mail campaigns)
- Promote Health and Safety and a safe working environment; report accidents and promote best practices

Knowledge and Skills
Essential
- Strong IT and administration skills, numeracy, and a good level of English
- Customer service focus with excellent communication, interpersonal, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills
- Action-oriented, solutions focused, capable of managing multiple priorities and delivering results on time
- Team player with attention to detail and problem-solving skills; follows processes and contributes to improvements
- Experience as a National Account Manager New Business
- Excellent presenting skills, including creating and presenting
- Experience presenting a New Business plan/strategy and pipeline to internal stakeholders
- Experience in the Foodservice sector, building a pipeline and onboarding multiple customers with turnover >£1m quarter on quarter
- Experience networking and building relationships in sectors
- Customer-facing experience identifying and understanding requirements of pipeline prospect decision-makers and solution selling
- Experience project managing an internal group to onboard new business prospects
- Experience prioritising prospect customer pipeline to grow turnover in line with Sales targets
It is essential for the successful candidate to prove successful delivery of a multi-temperature Foodservice pipeline with accounts won consistently >£1m/annum in value
Desirable
- Experience within the Foodservice sector or similar operation
