Have you developed manufacturing partnerships with food or drink customers?
Can you spot opportunities that make good use of capability and capacity while protecting margin?
Are you confident leading complex projects from customer brief through development, costing and production?
MacGregor Black is partnering with a food and snacking manufacturer on the appointment of a National Account Executive – Co Manufacturing.
This role supports the growth of the business’s co-manufacturing partnerships, helping to develop existing relationships and find new opportunities across its manufacturing
capabilities. Working closely with senior commercial colleagues, you will manage customer projects from first enquiry through feasibility, costing, development and launch. It is an
excellent opportunity to build a deep understanding of how a food manufacturing business works commercially and operationally, with a clear path to taking on your own customers
and new business projects as you develop.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the management and development of existing co-manufacturing customer relationships, acting as a responsive and reliable day-to-day contact.
- Research prospective customers, including brand owners, challenger brands and retailers, and identify opportunities that fit the business’s manufacturing capabilities,
- capacity and strategic priorities.
- Qualify incoming enquiries, gathering the information needed to judge feasibility, volume, complexity and commercial potential.
- Prepare proposals, costings, quotations, presentations and regular customer updates, working with finance and operations to make sure pricing is accurate and sustainable.
- Coordinate customer briefs, samples, factory trials and launches with NPD, technical, planning and operations teams, keeping projects to agreed timelines.
- Track project progress, forecasts and commercial performance, and flag risks, delays or margin concerns early.
- Maintain accurate customer records, pipeline reports and project trackers so that the wider commercial team has a clear view of activity.
- Build a working knowledge of capacity, line capability, production complexity, raw materials and packaging, and of how these determine whether an opportunity is
- commercially viable.
- Support contract, specification and pricing discussions alongside senior colleagues.
- Take on more ownership of customers and new business projects as your experience and confidence grow.
What We’re Looking For:
- Experience in a commercial, account management, sales support or business development role within food or drink.
- Exposure to manufacturing, own label or co-manufacturing would be a strong advantage.
- Strong analytical skills and confidence working with costings, forecasts, margins and customer data, with good Excel capability.
- Excellent organisation, with the ability to keep several stakeholders, projects and deadlines moving at once.
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication, and the confidence to deal directly with customers.
- The initiative to spot opportunities, ask constructive questions and follow actions through to completion.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build good relationships with technical and operational colleagues.
- A real interest in food and drink products and in how they are made.
- Ambition to develop into a full account management or business development role.
