Job summary

ABB UK is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join their Automation Energy Industries team. You will deliver installation, commissioning, maintenance and project support for MV/LV switchgear, protection relays and VSD systems across diverse sectors including oil & gas, marine and renewables.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and proven experience with MV/LV distribution systems.
• Proven experience commissioning, testing, maintaining and supporting MV/LV switchgear, protection relays and/or VSDs.
• Strong knowledge of protection relay configuration and power system studies.
• Familiarity with IEC standards and electrical safety regulations.

Responsibilities

• Install, commission, maintain, troubleshoot, upgrade and retrofit MV/LV switchgear, protection relay and VSD systems.
• Provide technical support remotely and on customer sites across the full service lifecycle.
• Develop protection relay settings and coordination studies.
• Contribute to power system studies including short-circuit, load flow, arc flash and EMI assessments.
• Diagnose and resolve faults on VSD systems and ABB drives.
