Job summary

Leeds Junior Conservatoire is recruiting a Tutor for Music Theory, Ensemble & Composition to deliver engaging classes for students aged 11–18. The role is 4 hours on Saturdays, term time only, with an emphasis on developing notation, harmony, and practical musicianship.

You will lead the LJC Experience Band for younger students and support composition work using Logic Pro and Sibelius, while promoting inclusive teaching and collaboration with staff.

Qualifications

• Honours degree in music or related discipline.
• Experience teaching under-18s with SEND, inclusive teaching and group learning.
• Strong musicianship and ability to teach music theory, practical musicianship and ensemble work.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging theory and musicianship classes for students aged 11–18.
• Lead LJC Experience Band for ages 8–11.
• Support students in composition using music software (Logic Pro/Sibelius).
• Contribute to curriculum development, assessment and teaching administration.
