Job summary

Leeds City College is seeking a Teaching Facilitator of Music for the School of Music and Performance Production at the Quarry Hill campus. The role involves planning workshops and lessons, delivering sessions with diverse methods, and developing assessments to support student progress.

Qualifications

• Relevant study or industry experience within a music discipline.
• Experience working with learners in Further Education.
• Patience, empathy, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to differentiate teaching and support individual learning needs.
• Knowledge of EHCPs, safeguarding, and inclusive teaching practices.
• Good organisational and record-keeping skills.
• Ability to motivate students and celebrate small achievements.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare workshop sessions for learners across Music Performance and Production courses
• Plan and prepare lesson-plans, teaching and learning resources, including online resources
• Deliver sessions and tutorials across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods
• Develop and employ assessment activities
• Assess student work, provide feedback to help the learner improve and record progress
• Create individual learning plans, which include targets.
