Job summary

Reeson Education is seeking a Creative Music Teacher for a maternity cover in a North London secondary school (Haringey). The post is fixed-term, part-time (0.6 FTE, three days per week) for KS3-4 starting October 2026.

You must hold UK QTS or an overseas qualification leading to QTS. The successful applicant will join an ambitious department with outstanding leadership, modern facilities, and a commitment to high standards.

Qualifications

• UK-recognised teaching qualification including QTS.
• Experience teaching Key Stages 3 and 4 is preferred.
• Ability to differentiate lessons for mixed-ability groups.
• Recent UK teaching experience or ECT candidates considered.

Responsibilities

• Deliver music lessons to KS3-4 students.
• Plan and prepare engaging lessons and assess progress.
• Collaborate with department and support literacy and numeracy aims.
• Contribute to department development and CPD activities.

Person Specification

• You will need to hold a recognised teaching qualification in the UK, to include QTS (or an appropriate overseas qualification leading to obtaining QTS)
• The school are keen to hear from experienced teachers, especially at Key Stages 3 & 4, if you have had experience teaching a range of syllabus on the National Curriculum then that would be an advantage.
• Ideally you will have experience of working in a mixed ability secondary comprehensive school and can demonstrate the ability to differentiate lessons accordingly.
• The School are equally keen to hear from teachers who are currently training and looking for an ECT position.
• Confidence in your ability to plan, prepare and deliver lessons for mixed ability pupils at GCSE's
• A good team player, who has a can do attitude and sense of humour
