Job description

Remedy are looking for a Part-Time Music Teacher to join a therapeutic SEN provision in Colchester, using the power of music to support and engage children and young people with a range of special educational needs, including ASD, SEMH, and complex learning difficulties.

Above the Role:

  • Plan and deliver engaging, adaptive music sessions tailored to a wide range of needs and abilities
  • Use music to support emotional regulation, communication, and self-expression
  • Collaborate with therapists, teaching staff, and families to create joined-up support plans
  • Contribute to the wider creative curriculum and school community
  • Support pupils' social and emotional development through therapeutic, inclusive practice

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • A recognised teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS or equivalent)
  • Experience teaching music in SEN or therapeutic settings (formal or informal)
  • A nurturing, trauma-informed approach
  • Strong classroom management and behaviour regulation strategies
  • Ability to adapt music activities for non-verbal or neurodivergent learners
