Job summary

Southend Museums is seeking a full-time, permanent Collections and Exhibitions Assistant to support the care, display and promotion of our collections across four sites.

You will assist the collections team with care and conservation tasks, help install and deinstall exhibitions, and collaborate with learning teams on social media output and visitor engagement, including public tours of our Collections Centre.

Qualifications

• Experience in standards of collections care, conservation processes and collections management practices.
• Confident communicator with strong written work and data recording abilities.
• Ability to work flexibly across multiple museum sites.

Responsibilities

• Assist in care and promotion of our collections and sites.
• Support installation and deinstallation of exhibitions and displays.
• Collaborate with learning and engagement teams on social media output.
• Support visitor outreach activities including public tours of the Collections Centre.
• Ensure documentation and records are up to date.
