Job summary

OnFife is recruiting a Museum Assistant to join Methil Heritage Centre on a fixed-term basis until end March 2027. The role is 22 hours per week, with a pattern across Wednesday to Saturday, focusing on delivering exceptional visitor experiences and administration support in a busy heritage venue.

You’ll bring customer service experience, a friendly and proactive approach, and an interest in local history. Interviews are scheduled for early October at Kirkcaldy Galleries.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience and strong communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for helping others and commitment to customer care.
• Interest in museums and local history.
• Excellent numeracy, literacy and administration skills; able to contribute to venue security and smooth operations.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to visitors at Methil Heritage Centre.
• Welcome and assist visitors, promote venue activities and events.
• Assist with daily operations, administration and venue security procedures.
• Work pattern and hours as stated (22 hours per week across Wed–Sat).
